As well as keeping Fowey's beach visitors topped up with freshly brewed coffee, homemade cakes and delicious Cornish ice-cream, we also stock an ever changing range of gorgeous gifts, jewellery, souvenirs and homewares. I am always on the lookout for new unique and interesting products to add to our wide range.

We know our customers

Our customer base varies from regular local customers popping in for a drink after a swim or a dog walk on the beach to holiday makers visiting Fowey once a year to more regular visitors who come multiple times a year. All our customers are passionate about Fowey and about Readymoney: even if it's their first visit, we're pretty sure it won't be their last.

After almost 8 years of trading, I have learnt (by trial & error!) what it is that my customers want so I am quite fussy about what I choose to stock. I work hard on developing and building ongoing customer relationships, both online and by email and my popular "Notes from Readymoney Cove" newsletter email has been landing in inboxes every Sunday morning at 7am for several years now (sign up here if you're interested!), this is usually where I feature new products. I also regularly send a mid-week sales email to my mailing list with new collections, discounts and other exciting opportunities.

We know our suppliers

Our focus is predominantly on micro to small businesses with a preference for products designed and made with love & care by people who are as passionate about their businesses as I am about mine.

I work hard to find small business suppliers whose values are aligned with my own. I put a lot of time and effort into researching suppliers with a strong preference on those who are based in Cornwall, Devon or the South West. Over 70% of my suppliers are female-founded businesses and this is something I am proud of. 

What you need to know as a potential supplier

  • Strictly wholesale only, we do not do sale or return or operate shelf rentals. If you are new to selling your work in shops please make sure you have researched and understand trade pricing before you get in touch. Google is your friend here...
  • I get a lot of applications through various channels and although I try to reply to all enquiries, it can be quite difficult to keep up. If you don't hear within a reasonable timeframe, please contact me again by email.
  • Given our location right on the beach in Fowey, our products have a strong emphasis on beach life, coastal living and being by the water in Cornwall. Do your products fit that genre?
  • Sustainability is key. Are your products made & packaged in the most sustainable way possible? 
  • Size is everything: my shop is tiny (take a video tour here)
  • Are you already selling elsewhere in Fowey or do you intend to? This is generally a big no for me unless you have had a discussion with the other stockist about how to make it work.
  • Small initial orders and low MOQs are critical for me. I like to test products out in small quantities first, sometimes a product just doesn't work out.
  • We sell online as well as in the beach shop. I generally do my own product photography for a consistent style but if you have good quality suitable product photos I can supplement my own with, this is definitely a plus.
  • Generally, I am looking for products with a RRP not exceeding £30. The business thrives on a high volume sales of lower value products, more work for me to list all those products but it's what works for my customers.

What I am not currently looking for

  • Sea glass products (jewellery or artwork)
  • Necklaces
  • Dog toys
  • Anything glass or ceramic 
  • Knitted or crochet items
  • Large artwork
  • Greetings cards which aren't coastal/Cornwall related
  • Anything with an RRP over about £30
