How to Find Readymoney Cove Beach
Readymoney beach is situated at St Catherine's Cove at the end of Readymoney Road in Fowey (PL23 1JH). To reach the beach:

By Car: There is council parking available nearby here. From the car park, it’s a short, scenic walk down to the beach down St Catherine Parade (follow the signs in the bottom corner of the car park). For those in need of a flatter route, follow the road down along Tower Park and down to the right along Readymoney Road. Find out more here

By Foot: You can also enjoy the very picturesque walk from Fowey town centre. This takes approximately 15 minutes along a well-signposted route alongside the estuary. The walk alone is worth it for the spectacular views across to Polruan and out to St Austell Bay. Don't forget to stop at the house called The Crab Pot and take that iconic Fowey snap of the river across to Polruan through the holes in the wall.

Toilets: Conveniently located right at the beach with at least one toilet open all day every day.

Wheelchair Access: The beach is accessible for wheelchairs, making it inclusive for all visitors. Please note that the gradient on the slipway is quite steep so take care.

Dog Policy: Dogs are not allowed on the beach between 10am and 6pm in July & August.

Safety: Please note that there is no lifeguard service at Readymoney Cove.
Activities at Readymoney Cove Beach

Swimming: The calm, clear turquoise waters make it an ever popular spot for swimming for all ages. The covered beach shelter is handy for changing or just sitting and admiring the views. There is usually a fairly regular stream of sea swimmers at Readymoney all year long but if you are looking for a swim buddy do join the local Bluetits group.

Snorkelling & Kayaking: Explore the underwater world and the scenic coastline with these popular water activities. Snorkels are available to buy in the beach shop. Bring your own kayak but do make sure you get the appropriate licence from the Harbour Office. You can also hire from Fowey River Hire in the town centre and if the conditions are right, kayak down to Readymoney beach

Paddleboarding: The perfect portable solution for those looking to enjoy the water and the views from a different perspective. Again, do be aware of the rules regarding use of paddleboards in Fowey Harbour.

Walking: The South West Coast Path runs nearby, offering breathtaking views and invigorating walks for as long or short a walk as the mood takes you. The Saints Way to Padstow also passes through Readymoney Cove.

Boating: please be aware that the local harbour bye-laws forbid boats which are capable of being power-driven entering the swim zone at Readymoney beach. This includes power vessels coming in under oar. Please be respectful of the no boats buoy at the swim line at the mouth of the cove.

St. Catherine’s Castle: A historical 16th-century fort located close to the beach with unmissable panoramic views of the estuary. Either take the metal steps off the beach itself or the less steep path between the cottages up through Covington Woods.

Fowey town: Wander through the narrow streets filled with an ever increasing range of locally run independent shops, excellent cafes and traditional pubs.

Mevagissey: Why not hop on the Mevagissey to Fowey ferry for a trip to the popular fishing village, you might even spot some dolphins on the way! Running from Whitehouse Quay, only 5 minutes walk from Readymoney beach, Fowey. Do check their social media before planning to travel as the ferry is very weather dependent.
